A 3 stud long beam with a larger 6.8mm diameter hole in the middle. This hole can be packed with bushes or 3D printed inserts or drilled out to allow the beam to slide up and down a smooth round shaft. The OD of the middle hole is 12mm giving plenty of material for drilling.
